Basketball Recap: New Covenant Gryphons  vs. Southwest Virginia Academy Conquerors        
        
		
            
 The New Covenant Gryphons  lost to the Southwest Virginia Academy Conquerors  back in January, but the New Covenant Gryphons  didn't allow the Southwest Virginia Academy Conquerors the same satisfaction on Friday. New Covenant walked away with  a   45-38  win over the Conquerors. The  victory made it back-to-back wins for New Covenant.
 It was another big night for  Brielle Walker, who  scored 28 points along with eight  rebounds and two  steals. She is on a roll when it comes to  steals, as she's  now  grabbed two or more in the last three games she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Alicia Kenny, who  scored two points along with 11  rebounds and three  steals.
 New Covenant has  been performing  well recently as they've  won five of their last six matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Southwest Virginia Academy, they are  on a four-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 6-8.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Covenant's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Crusaders at 6:30  p.m.  on February 5th. Temple Christian is coming into the  matchup hot, having won their last four games. As for Southwest Virginia Academy, they and the Chiefs will face off  at 7:00  p.m.  on February 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Carlisle presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Conquerors in Virginia (the Chiefs are ranked 52nd, while the Conquerors are ranked 262nd).
