Basketball Preview: North Johnston Panthers vs. Spring Creek Gators
North Johnston is 8-0 against the Gators since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The North Johnston Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Spring Creek Gators at 6:00 p.m. North Johnston's defense has only allowed 24.6 points per game this season, so the Gators' offense will have their work cut out for them.
North Johnston can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Princeton 50-19 at home. The victory was just what North Johnston needed coming off of a 49-20 defeat in their prior match.
Meanwhile, Spring Creek pushed their score all the way to 56 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 72-56 to Beddingfield. Spring Creek has not had much luck with the Bruins recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
North Johnston's victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Spring Creek, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
North Johnston strolled past the Gators in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a score of 43-27. Does North Johnston have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Gators turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
