Preview: Tioga Bulldogs vs. Nocona Indians
Tioga is 1-0 against Nocona since October of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Tioga Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Nocona Indians at 7:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Tioga sitting on three straight victories and Nocona on six.
Last Friday, Tioga took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 61-12 win over Alvord. The result was nothing new for Tioga, who have now won four matches by 21 points or more so far this season.
Hayden Hilliard continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 408 yards and seven touchdowns. Hilliard was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 58 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Norwood, who gained 182 total yards and two touchdowns.
Tioga's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was Manuel Molina and his 3.5 sacks.
Meanwhile, after only seven points in their last match, Nocona made sure to put some points up on the board against Trenton on Friday. Nocona walked away with a 48-36 win over Trenton.
Their wins bumped Tioga to 5-2 and Nocona to 6-0.
Tioga strolled past Nocona in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 by a score of 35-21. Does Tioga have another victory up their sleeve, or will Nocona turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
