Tellico Plains waltzed into their match on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They took down the Meigs County Tigers 74-56. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Tigers are ranked 320th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Meigs County lost, don't look at Brody Goines. Despite the final result, he went 7-for-11 on his way to 15 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Davis, who posted ten points and eight rebounds.

Tellico Plains' win bumped their record up to 24-2. As for Meigs County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-21 record this season.

As of now, neither Tellico Plains nor Meigs County have any future games scheduled.
