Baseball Recap: Flagler Palm Coast Comes Up Short

Flagler Palm Coast was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 10-9 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bishop Snyder Cardinals. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Flagler Palm Coast got a good showing from Brody Mcginty, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.

On the hitting side, Marion Clayton made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. He also scored two runs, which is notable because Flagler Palm Coast is 5-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Carson Flis, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Even though they lost, Flagler Palm Coast lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Flagler Palm Coast's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Bishop Snyder, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 14-5.

Looking ahead, Flagler Palm Coast will face off against Spruce Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Spruce Creek will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Flagler Palm Coast surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bishop Snyder, they will take on Clay at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Bishop Snyder's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Clay has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
