Softball Recap: La Costa Canyon Mavericks vs. Torrey Pines Falcons
La Costa Canyon dropped their record down to 17-10-1 on Thursday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins at home. They fell 8-5 to the Torrey Pines Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-2 defeat back in April.
Mia Reynoso made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Addy Brown, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
As for Torrey Pines, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games.
On Torrey Pines' side, Wilhemina Crouch was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Riley Cullivan was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base.
