Football Recap: Medina Valley's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Medina Valley won the last time they faced Laredo LBJ and Xavier Gonzalez did his part to make sure it happened again. The Panthers blew past the Wolves 28-7 on Friday for which the team can thank Gonzalez, who rushed for 133 yards and two scores. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 133 rushing yards.

Laredo LBJ's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mauricio Lopez, who rushed for 93 yards on only 12 carries, and also picked up 36 receiving yards. Ivan Gonzalez also helped out with an impressive 94 receiving yards.

The victory (which was Medina Valley's third in a row) raised their record to 4-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.3 points over those games. As for Laredo LBJ, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Medina Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 30-20 victory against Alexander on the 10th. As for Laredo LBJ, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 24-7 loss against Eagle Pass on the 9th.
