Baseball Recap: Tahoma Finds Home Field Redemption Against Kentwood

There's no place like home for Tahoma, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They walked away with a 9-4 win over the Kentwood Conquerors on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bears also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Neal Burtis tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Tahoma got a big performance out of Adam Jay, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Lucas Post, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Tahoma's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Kentwood, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Tahoma will have a chance to go back-to-back against Kentwood: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
