After flying high against Lakeside on Thursday, Jefferson Area came back down to earth. The Falcons fell just short of the South Rebels by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The Falcons' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
South got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Milli Ellis out in front who had 15 digs, four aces, and one block. That's the most aces Ellis has posted since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Miozzi, who had 12 digs.
Jefferson Area's defeat dropped their record down to 13-5. As for South, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
Coincidentally, Jefferson Area and South will both be playing Berkshire the next time they take the court. The Rebels will head out to face the Badgers at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, while the Falcons will play them later in the day, at 11:30 a.m.
