Football Recap: Whitewater Starts Season with Victory at Home

Whitewater gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They managed a 26-22 win over the Big Foot Chiefs. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Big Foot's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dawson Walter, who threw for 158 yards and three touchdowns. Walter didn't just play on offense: he also made one tackle and defended three passes. 81 of Walter's passing yards were hauled in by Isaiah Dye-Hamilton, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Coming up, Whitewater will challenge Clinton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Big Foot, they will square off against Harvard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
