Baseball Recap: Jones Comes Up Short

After flying high against Lindblom on Wednesday, Jones came back down to earth. The Eagles came up short against the Neuqua Valley Wildcats on Friday, falling 14-4. The Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Jones saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christophe DeWijkerslooth, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Jones' defeat dropped their record down to 12-15. As for Neuqua Valley, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-12-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jones will welcome Chicago University at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Maroons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.13 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Neuqua Valley, they will host Naperville North at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
