Softball Recap: Dupo Tigers vs. New Athens Yellow Jackets
Dupo hadn't done well against New Athens recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Tigers beat the Yellow Jackets by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 2-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-0 on Tuesday.
Addison Thompson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Dupo's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kylie Kloess, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
