Baseball Recap: Apollo Ridge Find Success

While Apollo Ridge put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Springdale. The Vikings blew past the Dynamos 9-0.

Gage Wingard was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Wingard was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Alex Clawson was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Peyton Mamros, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Apollo Ridge's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Springdale, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Apollo Ridge will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Dynamos: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
