Baseball Recap: Ridgeland Takes a Loss

Ridgeland might've scored the first runs on Friday, but it was Warren Central who claimed the real prize. The Titans might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 8-3 to the Vikings, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The loss continues a trend for the Titans in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost four in a row.

Mikal Salter made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. Isaiah McClenty was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases.

Ridgeland's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Warren Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season.

Ridgeland didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-3 victory against Pearl on the 12th. As for Warren Central, they will challenge St. Andrew's Episcopal at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Saints will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight.
