Recap: Ardsley Panthers vs. Pelham Memorial Pelicans
There's no place like home for the Ardsley Panthers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They walked away with a 42-30 victory over Pelham Memorial on Saturday. Given Ardsley's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while Pelham Memorial is ranked 159th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Claire Tierney continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Iva Corluka was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Ardsley pushed their record up to 13-2 with that win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Pelham Memorial, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.
Ardsley will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Rye at 4:30 p.m. As for Pelham Memorial, they will head out on the road to challenge Byram Hills at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
