Preview: Laporte Wildcats vs. Blackduck Drakes
Laporte is 0-10 against Blackduck since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Laporte Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Blackduck Drakes at 7:30 p.m. Laporte comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Thursday, Laporte was the victim of a tough 64-43 loss at the hands of Red Lake.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought contest, but Blackduck had to settle for a 41-38 loss against Fertile-Beltrami on Saturday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Blackduck in their matchups with Fertile-Beltrami: they've now lost three in a row.
Laporte bumped their record down to 0-3 with that loss, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.2 points per game. As for Blackduck, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
Laporte was taken down by Blackduck 71-31 when the teams last played back in February. Can Laporte avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
