Soccer Recap: Layton Gets Big Win over Higher-Ranked Fremont

Layton hadn't done well against Fremont recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Lancers' defense stepped up to hand the Silverwolves a 1-0 shutout. The win was all the more spectacular given Layton's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah soccer rankings (they are ranked 44th, while Fremont are ranked tenth).

Layton's one-goal win came courtesy of Kyle Lemburg, who's now up to two this season.

The victory got Layton back to even at 6-6. As for Fremont, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.
