Soccer Recap: Sycamore Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sycamore). They put the hurt on the Pearl-Cohn Firebirds with a sharp 5-1 win on Friday. While Sycamore didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-9-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

They hit Pearl-Cohn with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Ali Rezai (2), Lucas Gehrke, Dominik Gutierrez, and Dylan Atnip.

The victory keeps Sycamore at an undefeated 5-0-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those five matchups. As for Pearl-Cohn, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Sycamore will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Cheatham County Central at 7:00 p.m. on April 1. Sycamore is facing Cheatham County Central at the right time seeing as Cheatham County Central is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Pearl-Cohn, they will welcome Stratford at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pearl-Cohn will be up against Stratford's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.4 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
