Preview: Galena Park Yellowjackets vs. Milby Buffs
After three games on the road, Galena Park is heading back home. They will take on the Milby Buffs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Galena Park will be strutting in after a win while Milby will be coming in after a loss.
Last Tuesday, Galena Park strolled past Austin with points to spare, taking the game 47-29. Galena Park pushed the score to 43-15 by the end of the third, a deficit Austin cut but never quite recovered from.
Meanwhile, Milby's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 60-16 loss at the hands of Sterling. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Milby has suffered since December 29, 2023.
Ke'lia Smith was Milby's leading scorer, having posted 11 points.
Nayeli Medina held things down on the boards with ten rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.
Galena Park has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-14 record this season. As for Milby, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-19 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Galena Park against Milby in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 65-25 victory. With Galena Park ahead 34-9 at the half, the match was all but over already.
