While Kingsburg's victory against Selma wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Vikings narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Bears 5-3. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Riley Cogburn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Caitlyn Essegian was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Ava Irigoyen, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Kingsburg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in five consecutive contests.

Kingsburg's record now sits at 13-8. As for Selma, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kingsburg will host Kerman at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Selma, they will be playing at home against Central Valley Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bears are facing the Cavaliers at the right time seeing as the Cavaliers are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
