Basketball Recap: Hemingford Skates Past Edgemont with Ease

A well-balanced attack led Hemingford over Edgemont in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Hemingford Bobcats blew the Edgemont Moguls out of the water with a 69-34 final score. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Bobcats had established a 22 point advantage.

Several Moguls players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sebastian Morse, who posted nine points in addition to five boards and three steals. Gradin Cortney was another key player, putting up eight points and ten rebounds.

Hemingford is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Edgemont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Hemingford Bobcats face off against the Mitchell Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Edgemont, they will square off against Bison at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
