Basketball Recap: Annandale Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Annandale and West Springfield squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Annandale had to settle for second. They fell to the West Springfield Spartans 85-79. One positive for the Atoms, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Annandale has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-12 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points over those games. West Springfield's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-15.

Annandale does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Springfield, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against West Potomac at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
