Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Wallace couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They were dealt an 86-8 defeat at the hands of the Carey Panthers on Friday. The Miners were red-hot offensively headed into the matchup (they scored no less than 31 points in the nine contests prior) but the Panthers' defense proved too tough.

The loss snapped Wallace's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 8-2 record. As for Carey, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
