Baseball Game Preview: Republic County Buffaloes vs. Southeast of Saline Trojans

Republic County is 0-8 against Southeast of Saline since April of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Buffaloes will head out on the road to face off against the Trojans at 3:00 p.m.

Republic County is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Sylvan-Lucas, falling 10-2.

Nick Kendall was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. He also put up two doubles, which were his first of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Southeast of Saline, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over Halstead on Saturday. The Trojans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Southeast of Saline pushed their record up to 2-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Republic County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Republic County might still be hurting after the 18-0 loss they got from Southeast of Saline when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Buffaloes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
