Basketball Recap: Pendleton Heights Falls Despite Big Games from Hayden Fox and Evan Mozingo

Pendleton Heights was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a hard 77-59 fall against the Hamilton Southeastern Royals. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Arabians of the 60-49 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Pendleton Heights' loss came despite strong showings from Evan Mozingo and Hayden Fox. Mozingo posted 15 points, while Fox went 5 for 8 on his way to 12 points. Fox continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Ashaan Singh was another key player, putting up ten points.

Hamilton Southeastern got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Braeden Totton out in front who had 17 points. Another player making a difference was Maverick Young, who went 6 of 10 en route to 17 points.

Pendleton Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Hamilton Southeastern, they moved to 9-10 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pendleton Heights will welcome Yorktown at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pendleton Heights is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.5 points per game this season. As for Hamilton Southeastern, they will be playing at home against Franklin Central at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Considering Hamilton Southeastern has lost three straight at home and Franklin Central five straight on the road , this one might come down to who's more desperate to change their momentum.
