Recap: Osborne Cardinals vs. Walton Raiders

The Osborne Cardinals were the 55-51 winner over the Walton Raiders when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Osborne took a hard 68-49 fall against Walton on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Osborne can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 150th, while Walton is ranked tenth).

Despite the loss, Osborne still got an impressive performance from Hakeem Weems, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Weems has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayvion Nurse, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.

Osborne has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Walton, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Osborne will challenge Kennesaw Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kennesaw Mountain is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home. As for Walton, they will head out on the road to face off against Cherokee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Cherokee's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches.
