Baseball Recap: Riviera Prep Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Riviera Prep's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They never let the David Posnack Jewish Day Rams get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by nine runs or more this season.

Tanner Wasserman made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Riviera Prep is 3-1 when Wasserman posts two or more runs, but 0-5 otherwise.

In other batting news, Jordan Fonte was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. Nico Rivas was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Riviera Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Riviera Prep's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-6. As for David Posnack Jewish Day, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
