Baseball Game Preview: Piketon Redstreaks vs. Dawson-Bryant Hornets

The Piketon Redstreaks will square off against the Dawson-Bryant Hornets at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Piketon's hitters haven't had much luck over their past four games, but Thursday's match will give them a chance to turn things around.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Piketon and Westfall have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Wednesday. The Redstreaks fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 3-2.

Meanwhile, Dawson-Bryant got the win against Chesapeake on Wednesday by a conclusive 12-5. That seven run margin sets a new team best for the Hornets this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Dawson-Bryant and bumps their season record up to 4-9. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Piketon, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10-1.

Piketon took their victory against Dawson-Bryant when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. Do the Redstreaks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
