Baseball Recap: San Ysidro Comes Up Short

San Ysidro had lost three straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 7-16 to make it four. They came up short against the Eastlake Titans, falling 12-1. The Cougars were not able to make up for their defeat to the Titans from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

San Ysidro saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexavier Abdala, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

As for Eastlake, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-6. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games.

On Eastlake's side, they got a great performance from Max Tello as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, JP Conero was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Omar Perez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run.

While San Ysidro had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
