Baseball Recap: Unaka Rangers vs. Johnson County Longhorns

Unaka extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 5-18 in the process. They lost 12-5 to the Johnson County Longhorns. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Longhorns this season, with their most recent defeat being a 7-5 loss on Thursday.

As for Johnson County, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-12. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games.

For Johnson County's part, Kaden Blevins made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. What's more, Blevins posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Unaka will take on Volunteer at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Johnson County, they will head out to take on Cloudland at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Highlanders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.47 runs per game on average), something the Longhorns will no doubt try to take advantage of.
