Basketball Game Preview: Union Tigers vs. Harman Panthers

Union and Harman are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers challenge the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Harman took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Union, who comes in off a win.

Union is coming into the match on the come-up as their season has now been buoyed by two straight victories. They took down Paw Paw 41-24 on Wednesday.

Union had a senior duo take command as Sophie Carr posted 13 points and five steals and Chanelle Sutton dropped a double-double with 15 points and 19 boards. Carr has become a key player for Union: the team is 2-1 when she posts at least five steals, but 3-12 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Stahl, who put up seven points and eight assists.

Union smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Harman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost to Tygarts Valley at home by a 40-22 margin.

Union's win bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Harman, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Everything came up roses for Union against Harman in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 54-6 victory. Does Union have another victory up their sleeve, or will Harman turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
