Basketball Recap: Le Roy Find Success

It's playoff time, and Le Roy had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Livonia Bulldogs by a score of 58-47 on Saturday. The win continues a trend for the Oatkan Knights in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won three in a row.

Grady Gilligan had another great game (as he tends to do), dropping a double-double with 24 points and 11 rebounds. He is becoming a predictor of Le Roy's success: when he posts at least ten boards the team is 12-4 (and 2-3 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Hockey, who posted 14 points and six rebounds.

Le Roy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Le Roy's record now sits at 14-7. As for Livonia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-15.

Coming up, Le Roy will face off against Waterloo at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Livonia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
