Baseball Recap: Tivy Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Tivy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Coronado Thunderbirds on Friday.

Josh Wheatfall looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Guy Flores, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

The victory got Tivy back to even at 5-5. As for Coronado, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.

Looking ahead, Tivy will take on Lehman in a tournament on Friday. As for Coronado, they will square off against Johnson at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
