Volleyball Recap: Ruidoso Extends Winning Streak to Four

Ruidoso waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Hatch Valley Bears. The Warriors have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bears, too.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Ruidoso who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-13, 21-25, 25-19, 21-25, 15-9.

Ruidoso's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Serena Chamberlain, who had eight digs and three aces. Those three aces gave Chamberlain a new career-high. Dustine Alvarado also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Ruidoso was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Ruidoso now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Hatch Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ruidoso will host Alamogordo at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hatch Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Chaparral at 5:00 p.m.
