Volleyball Recap: Newark Memorial Comes Up Short

Newark Memorial lost against James Logan back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cougars came up short against the Colts, falling 3-0. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-11, 25-14.

Malia Kuehn paced Newark Memorial's offense, picking up five kills. Kuehn got some help from Gianna Adame and her ten assists. Adame was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

James Logan can attribute much of their success to Leann Jung, who had ten assists and six aces.

Newark Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for James Logan, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Newark Memorial is set to challenge their familiar foe Washington at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, James Logan will face off against rival Irvington at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
