Softball Game Preview: Sutter Huskies vs. Natomas Nighthawks

The Sutter Huskies will head out on the road to face off against the Natomas Nighthawks at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sutter is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

In Thursday's Canine Competition, Sutter came out on top. They never let Woodland get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory on Thursday.

The result came thanks to Ryleigh Lemenager's shutout, as she gave up just eight hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Sutter let Gabriella Jones and Paytyn Schamanski run wild. Jones scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Schamanski went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Meanwhile, Natomas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 20-0 to Dixon.

Sutter pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Natomas, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Sutter took their win against Natomas in their previous meeting last Tuesday by a conclusive 21-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sutter since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
