Basketball Recap: Longmont Trojans vs. Skyline Falcons
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Broomfield, Longmont was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They strolled past the Skyline Falcons with points to spare, taking the game 61-46. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Trojans also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2022.
Longmont got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Rhys Odom out in front who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Gavin Northouse, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 13 points.
Skyline's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Thomas Martinez-Hernandez, who went 6 for 10 en route to 16 points and five rebounds, and Jd Wright, who earned 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dj Swan, who had nine points.
Longmont's record now sits at 10-4. As for Skyline, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.
Longmont didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-31 victory against Greeley Central on the 25th. Skyline has also already played their next match, a 64-25 win against Battle Mountain on the 25th.
