Volleyball Recap: Englewood Takes a Loss

If Englewood was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of William Smith on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Englewood fell 2-0 to Alameda on Saturday. Englewood was not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Alameda earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Alameda scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-18.

Kira Cole paced Englewood's offense, picking up four kills. Cole got some help from Shana Owens and her six assists.

Englewood has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season. As for Alameda, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-15.

Englewood wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Sheridan on the 25th. As for Alameda, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Jefferson on the 25th.
