Basketball Game Preview: Windsor Academy Knights vs. Gatewood Gators

Windsor Academy hasn't had much luck against Gatewood recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Windsor Academy Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Gatewood Gators at 5:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Windsor Academy is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Saturday. They had to suffer through a 59-22 loss at the hands of Mount de Sales Academy. The Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-7.

Meanwhile, Gatewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 48-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Central Fellowship Christian Academy. While losing is never fun, the Gators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 254th, while the Lancers are ranked 76th).

Windsor Academy will have to contain Riley Roberts as she made an impact in Gatewood's last game. She posted 16 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Roberts is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last 18 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Bela Smith, who earned nine points and three steals.

Windsor Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-21. As for Gatewood, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-11.

Windsor Academy might still be hurting after the 57-36 loss they got from Gatewood when the teams last played back in January. Can Windsor Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
