Basketball Game Preview: Centerville Elks vs. Springfield Wildcats

The Centerville Elks will take on the Springfield Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Centerville has given up an average of 56.2 points per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

While Centerville's victory against Northmont wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Elks skirted past the Thunderbolts 61-58. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Elks have posted since January 8th.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Springfield took on Springboro on Saturday. The Wildcats came up short against the Panthers, falling 57-34. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Centerville's victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-2. As for Springfield, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Centerville and Springfield were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in February, but Centerville came up empty-handed after a 47-46 loss. Can the Elks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
