Volleyball Game Preview: Concord-Carlisle Patriots vs. Wayland Warriors

The Concord-Carlisle Patriots will challenge the Wayland Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Wayland took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Concord-Carlisle, who comes in off a win.

While Concord-Carlisle's victory against Burlington wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Patriots had just enough and edged out the Red Devils 3-2 on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Patriots as it put an end to their three-match losing streak.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Concord-Carlisle got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 26-24, 23-25, 25-22, 20-25, 17-15.

Meanwhile, Wayland came up short against Wakefield Memorial on Tuesday and fell 3-1. While Wayland didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating Wakefield Memorial 25-18 in the first set.

Wayland started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-17, 25-11, 27-25.

Wayland has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Concord-Carlisle, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Concord-Carlisle couldn't quite get it done against Wayland when the teams last played back in October of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Patriots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
