Basketball Game Preview: Diller-Odell Griffin vs. Southern Raiders

Diller-Odell and Southern are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Diller-Odell Griffin will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Southern Raiders. Southern took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Diller-Odell, who comes in off a win.

Diller-Odell saw some tournament action on Friday. They strolled past Freeman with points to spare, taking the game 52-34.

It was another big night for Myleigh Weers, who posted 26 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Diller-Odell's points.

Meanwhile, Southern came up short against Meridian on Monday and fell 44-33.

Diller-Odell has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.1 points per game. As for Southern, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Diller-Odell against Southern in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 67-29 victory. In that matchup, Diller-Odell amassed a halftime lead of 39-15, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
