Basketball Recap: Webster County Victorious

Webster County won the last time they faced River View and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Highlanders came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 43-31. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Highlanders.

River View's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chasity Kennedy, who shot 55% from the field to rack up 14 points along with six boards and three steals. That was a full 45.2% of the Raiders' points, marking the third time in a row Kennedy has posted more than a third of the team's points. Baleigh Auville was another key player, putting up four points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Webster County's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for River View, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Webster County will head out to challenge Calhoun at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for River View, they will venture away from home to square off against Hurley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders' defense better be ready for this one: the Rebels have averaged an impressive 56.9 points per game this season.
