Softball Game Preview: Gallatin Green Wave vs. East Robertson Indians

The Gallatin Green Wave will square off against the East Robertson Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Gallatin and three for East Robertson.

Gallatin fell victim to Station Camp and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bison. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 25, 2022, but that streak is no more.

Riley Tate spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on ten hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, East Robertson was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They lost 15-2 to Lebanon.

Isabella Smith made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Gallatin's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for East Robertson, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

East Robertson's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Gallatin hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .347. It's a different story for East Robertson, though, as they've only averaged .240. Will they be able to contain Gallatin's hitters?

Gallatin took their win against East Robertson in their previous matchup back in April of 2022 by a conclusive 13-3 score. Do the Green Wave have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
