Basketball Recap: Fostoria Piles Up the Points Against Otsego

Fostoria won the last time they faced Otsego and things went their way on Thursday too. The Fostoria Redmen blew past the Otsego Knights, posting a 55-23 victory. The win was nothing new for the Redmen as they're now sitting on five straight.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fostoria to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alycia Middlebrooks, who almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine rebounds. The match was Middlebrooks' fourth in a row with at least 20 points. Amijah Poole was another key player, going 6 of 8 to rack up 13 points.

Fostoria smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive games.

Fostoria's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-10. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points over those games. As for Otsego, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-18.

Fostoria wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 70-37 win against Toledo Christian on the 8th. As for Otsego, they will be taking part in a tournament against Genoa Area at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th.
