Volleyball Recap: Summit Christian Academy Eagles vs. Nevada Tigers
Summit Christian Academy and Nevada squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Summit Christian Academy had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.
Summit Christian Academy wouldn't go down easily and took Nevada into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking 11-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-21, 19-25, 22-25, 15-4.
Charlee Pollard paced Summit Christian Academy's offense, picking up 17 kills. Pollard got some help from Rilyn Richards-Hamburg and her 38 assists. Finally, Pollard was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.
Nevada found their leader in sophomore Alatna Snyder, who had 16 assists and six digs.
Summit Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 14-16-2. As for Nevada, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 27-6-2.
Summit Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Nevada, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Oak Grove on the 1st.
