Preview: Maclay Marauders vs. North Florida Christian Eagles
Maclay has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the North Florida Christian Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Maclay posted their biggest victory since December 1, 2023 on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 39-17 margin over Sneads. The score was close at the half, but Maclay pulled away in the second half with 23 points.
Maclay can attribute much of their success to Aleeza Moore, who scored eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Guyer, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, North Florida Christian strolled past St. John Paul II with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 37-19. The victory made it back-to-back wins for North Florida Christian.
Maclay has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for North Florida Christian, their win bumped their record up to 6-10.
Maclay beat North Florida Christian 41-28 in their previous matchup last Friday. The rematch might be a little tougher for Maclay since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
