Baseball Recap: Christ School Comes Up Short

After flying high against Hayesville last Thursday, Christ School came back down to earth. The Greenies fell just short of the Charlotte Latin Hawks by a score of 5-4 on Saturday. The Greenies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Davis Jones was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 5.2 innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

Christ School's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Charlotte Latin, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Christ School didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-6 win against Charlotte Country Day School on the 29th. As for Charlotte Latin, they have also already played their next contest, a 10-3 victory against Cannon on the 1st.
