Softball Recap: Make It Nine in a Row for Antioch

Antioch had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Lakes on Tuesday. The Sequoits were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Eagles. Considering the Sequoits have won five matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The win was the ninth in a row for Antioch, bringing their record up to 9-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Lakes, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Coming up, Antioch will square off against Taft at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Sequoits' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Lakes, they will challenge Grant Community at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
