Baseball Recap: Cardinal Newman Comes Up Short

Cardinal Newman managed to slip by St. Mary the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Cardinals lost 8-1 to the Rams on Tuesday. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Cardinal Newman saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Pezzolo, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Cardinal Newman's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-6. As for St. Mary's, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-4.

Looking ahead, Cardinal Newman will be playing at home against Windsor at 4:00 p.m. on the 23rd. St. Mary's has already played their next contest (against Archbishop Mitty), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
